Pennsylvania’s Abington Health Opens Orthopedic & Spine Institute

Abington (Pa.) Health has opened a new Orthopedic & Spine Institute led by Andrew M. Star, MD, according to an Abingdon Health news release.

The Orthopedic & Spine Institute will include 75 physicians at Abington Memorial Hospital and Lansdale Hospital who will perform joint replacements, spine surgery, as well as sports medicine and pain management procedures.

The Lansdale Hospital location includes a specially designed rehabilitation area, private patient rooms and WiFi areas. Abington physicians perform more than 1,000 joint replacements each year. OSI surgeons perform traditional and minimally invasive orthopedic procedures.

Spine and neurosurgeons are also available at OSI and perform fusions, microdiscectomies and bone-grafting procedures.
