Pennsylvania Hospital to Offer Neuro-Spine Surgery for the First Time

Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa., will begin offering neuro-spine surgery for the first time in the history of the hospital, according to a report in the Wayne Independent.

Philip J. Hlavac, MD, of North East PA Neuro Spine is set to perform his first surgery at the hospital on Sept. 23. He is a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago and Albany (N.Y.) Medical College. Dr. Hlavac specializes in patients suffering back, neck or cranial problems and carpal tunnel, according to the report.

Officials from WMH said that Dr. Hlavac’s services will meet a growing need.
