US Spine has been awarded a patent for its Facet Gun, the first in a series of applications for the Facet Fixation System, which is already on the market, according to a release from US Spine, based in Boca Raton, Fla.
US Spine claims that the Facet Gun, one part of the system, enables spine surgeons to lock the facet joint in just minutes rather than the hours required from traditional stabilization methods.
The Facet Bolt, another part of the system, is a locking facet implant that the company says provides stiffness and strength but is simpler, faster and less invasive than conventional stabilization and fusion devices.
