The Orthopedic Clinic in Daytona Beach, Fla. broke ground on its future headquarters in the same city, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported Jan. 20.

Here are six developments in sports medicine since Dec. 1:

Ryan Tannehill, starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, underwent ankle surgery at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, Ala., nfl.com reported Dec. 23. 

Since September, spine and orthopedic devicemakers have provided a glimpse into the next stages of technological developments.

Adding new spinal surgery technology, recruiting staff and expanding education for patients and mentees are among a few of the goals spine and orthopedic surgeons have for 2023. 

Dean Chou, MD, was named chief of the spine division at NewYork-Presbyterian's neurosurgery department.
