Less than two weeks after training camp began, an unofficial count reported 10 players with season-ending Achilles tendon tears, which is significant compared to the nine players who sustain Achilles tendon tears during preseason last year.

There are several factors that could impact the increase in injuries, including the increased number of players teams are allowed to have on their roster and overexposure after an extended period without organized workouts during the lockout.
