Orthopedic Surgeon Who Developed Clubfoot Treatment Dead at 95

Ignacio Ponseti, MD, a former orthopedic surgeon at the University of Iowa who developed a nonsurgical means of treating clubfoot in babies, has died at age 95, according to an obituary in the Iowa City Press-Citizen.

The Ponseti Method stretches the ligaments and molds the foot into shape using manual manipulations, casts and braces.
