Dr. Pryce will run as an independent candidate. In his announcement before an assembly of his peers and the Tea Party Movement at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine Rootstown Campus, Dr. Pryce described his campaign and vision to “implement a healthcare plan that solves the problems in healthcare from the prospective of a healthcare professional and not a politician” while “making government smaller, reducing taxes and bringing spending under control,” according to the release.
Dr. Pryce has been a surgeon for more than 30 years. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and then received his medical degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. He completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Loma Linda (Calif.) University.
