Orthopedic Surgeon, Medical Organizations Receive Community Collaboration Award for “Free Surgery Day” in Colorado

Several companies and surgery center collaborators received the 2010 Community Collaboration Award from The Summit Foundation for sponsoring Free Surgery Day in Vail, Colo., according to a Summit Daily report.

The group, led by Peter Janes, MD, a physician with Vail Summit Orthopedics, included Vail Summit Orthopedics, Peak One Surgery Center, Summit Community Care Clinic, High Country Health Care, Summit Surgical Consultants, Pinnacle III, Summit Cardiology, Anesthesia Consultants, Summit Medical Center, MetroPath, Centura Health Systems, Surgical Notes and Peak One Pain & Spine.

Free Surgery Day was held in April 2010 and allowed 13 patients to receive procedures that returned them to a higher level of function. The patients were selected by the Community Care Clinic.
