Dr. Kuklo, a former U.S. Army surgeon, was accused by the Army of falsifying data in a clinical trial involving Infuse, a Medtronic bone-growth product. The results of his study were published in 2008 in a British medical journal but were later retracted by the journal.
During the time of the study, Dr. Kuklo served as a consultant to Medtronic, receiving more than $800,000 in fees over the course of three years, according to the report. Medtronic stated that it was not involved in the study.
