Orthopedic Device Supplier Charged With Fraudulently Billing Medicare $100K

The operator of an orthopedic supply company in Brunswick, Ga., has been charged and arrested for allegedly submitted false claims for orthopedic devices that were never provided to patients, according to a First Coast News report.

Cecil Risher of Preferred Prosthetics and Orthotics has been accused of fraudulently billing Medicare more than $100,000 for orthopedic devices never supplied to patients by allegedly stealing the identifications of Medicare beneficiaries and physicians, according to the report.
