Dr. Gill’s professional experience involves diagnosis and treatment of degenerative cervical and lumbar spine conditions through spinal fusions, disc arthroplasty and minimally invasive spine surgery methods. Recently, he lent his expertise to a story about preventing spinal disorders in The Dallas Morning News. He recommends adults avoid future back pain and disorders by alternating between standing and sitting, carrying loads close to the body and keeping correct posture when working at a desk.

Before achieving his current position, Dr. Gill served as the vice president of medical services at UT Southwest Medical Center and the University Hospital-St. Paul in Dallas. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Board of Spine Surgery. His professional affiliations include memberships to the North American Spine Society, the Cervical Spine Research Society and the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. Dr. Gill serves as an advisory editor of The Spine Journal.
Dr. Gill earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and his master of medical management from Tulane University in New Orleans. His additional training includes a residency in orthopedic surgery at UT Southwestern and fellowships in disorders of the spine at The London (England) Clinic and the University of Vermont in Burlington.
