In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Visotsky is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago and an instructor in the physician’s assistant department of Finch University of Health Sciences in Chicago. Dr. Visotsky has also published several professional journal articles on topics such as the complications associated with endoscopic and open carpal tunnel release and the accuracy of office-based ultrasound of the shoulder for diagnosing rotator cuff tears.
Dr. Visotsky has served on the editorial board of MedScape and Emedicine. He currently serves on the advisory board for United Shockwave Therapies and the Discovery Health Network. He has several professional appointments around Chicago, including a place on the advisory board for the Shedd Aquarium and chief of the medical advisory board at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
During his career, Dr. Visotsky has served on committees for several professional organizations. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Chicago Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery.
Dr. Visotsky earned his medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at McGraw Medical Center in Chicago. He also completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity microsurgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
