Dr. Badia is also a founding partner of the Miami Hand Center and OrthoNOW, an immediate orthopedic care center. He also runs a fellowship in hand surgery. He trains surgeons from five continents and organizes a yearly conference in Miami for surgeons and therapists to discuss hand and wrist joint replacement and arthroscopic procedures. He is also a member of the American Hand Institute, a small group of surgeons dedicated to advancing and performing the latest techniques in hand surgery.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Badia serves on the editorial board for Techniques in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and Hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association of Hand Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is an honorary member of several Latin American and European associations.
During his career, Dr. Badia has lectured extensively in national and international venues as well as published in professional journals. The topics of his research articles include treatment of early basal joint arthritis using a combined arthroscopic debridement and metacarpal osteotomy. He has been named one of the best orthopedic surgeons in America by American Way Magazine.
Dr. Badia earned his medical degree from New York University, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. His additional training includes a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and a hand fellowship in Europe through the AO Trauma Association.
