Procedures using PRP are designed for a faster recovery time and quicker return to play, as one Pittsburgh Steelers player found out when he received the treatment just before the 2009 Super Bowl. Dr. Rosen and the KSF physicians recently made PRP part of their regular treatment program.
“We remain very active in examining the scientific data on long term results, as this is the only way to ensure we are offering patients the best of what we have in orthopedic medicine,” Dr. Rosen said in a practice news release. “Just as technology continues to evolve, so too does our understanding of the intricate workings of the human body and its responses to both natural and man-made interventions.”
Dr. Rosen specifically uses PRP injections to treat chronic tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow. He regularly performs joint reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery as well as fracture and dislocation repair. He is among a small group of physicians who perform mini open carpal tunnel repair and distal humeral replacement using an advanced hemiarthroplasty implant.
Dr. Rosen is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has been recognized among Houston’s top physicians by H Texas Magazine.
Dr. Rosen earned his medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. He also completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
