ONC Announces Clinical Decision Support, Interoperability Framework

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology is launching a new standards and interoperability framework, Health eDecisions, according to a Healthcare Informatics report.

With the initiative, ONC intends to address standards to exchange clinical decision support interventions, according to the report. The creation of a standard format for sharable clinical decision support will facilitate integration into EHR systems and support use by care providers.

Health eDecisions will operate as part of the ONC Standards & Interoperability Framework in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, which was also recently launched.
