Oklahoma’s New Malpractice Reforms Take Effect

Oklahoma’s new malpractice reforms for physicians went into effect on Nov. 1, according to a release from the Oklahoma Hospital Association.

The new law caps non-economic damages at $400,000 in most circumstances and eliminates joint and several liability, which forced physicians with a only a peripheral role in a case to pay most of the damages if they had the deepest pockets.
