New Orleans-based Ochsner Health has opened the $120 million Debra H. and Robert J. Patrick Neuroscience Institute, a 132,000-square-foot facility bringing neuroscience services together in one location.
The institute will open to clinic patient appointments Oct. 5, according to an Oct. 1 news release from the health system. It brings together neurology, neurosurgery, behavioral health, rehabilitation and therapy and wellness.
Ochsner’s neuroscience program includes more than 100 neuroscience specialists and offers more than 20 specialties and subspecialities. Nearly 100,000 neurosciences and behavioral health patients receive care annually from a multidisciplinary team of more than 200 neuroscience physicians, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation therapists and behavioral therapists.
“The Patrick Neuroscience Institute is built on four core clinical pillars including neurology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation and behavioral health. Together, these disciplines allow us to treat the whole patient across every stage of disease and recovery,” David Houghton, MD, system chair of neurology at Ochsner Health, said in the release.
Ochsner Health operates 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
