NFL Team Physicians Can See Players Outside of Team Facilities

While the former National Football League Player’s Association website states that players are not allowed to speak with team physicians in the event of a lock-out, an NFL spokesman recently confirmed that players are able to meet with team physicians as long as they aren’t in a team facility, according to an NBC Sports report.

Athletic trainers are also able to gather information from team physicians about the reports, according to the report. A player from the New England Patriots recently sought consultation with team physician Thomas J. Gill, MD, which brought this loophole to light.
