New Jersey Sports Medicine Physician Loses Medical License After Pleading Not Guilty to Healthcare Fraud Charges

A former sports medicine and family practice physician from North Wildwood, N.J., who pleaded not guilty to healthcare fraud charges, has lost his bid to reinstate his medical license, according to a Press of Atlantic City report.

John Costino’s medical license was suspended last year by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners after undercover authorities accused him of illegally distributing pain medication. Mr. Costino, who also allegedly engaged in insurance fraud, appealed to have his request reinstated, but the court struck down his request, according to the report.
