New Hitters Helmets Designed to Prevent Concussions

Major League Baseball hitters are now required to wear a new helmet for more protection against pitches that may hit them in the head, according to an LA Times report.

The league hopes to test-approve protective head gear for pitches as well, according to the report. Companies are working on devices that can fit inside the pitchers’ caps without disrupting their performance to protect against balls being hit back at them.
