NBA Applies New Concussion Policy

The National Basketball Association has implemented a new policy on concussions, according to a Miami Herald news report.

Jeffrey Kutcher, MD, associate professor of neurology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor will head the NBA’s new concussion program. The program includes:
•    Annual player, coach and team medical personnel education and training
•    Yearly baseline testing of players
•    Customized assessments and multi-staged protocol for returning to play
