National Surgical Hospitals Names Current CEO John Rex-Waller Vice Chair of Board

National Surgical Hospitals, based in Chicago, has announced its current CEO and co-founder John G. Rex-Waller has been named vice chairman of the board.

As part of the leadership position, David Crane, current board chair, will serve as CEO. Mr. Crane has more than 25 years of healthcare experience, including roles as COO and CEO of MedCath.

In his new position, Mr. Rex-Waller will lead the NHS’ legislative lobbying efforts on both a national and state level. Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Rex-Waller said, “I have enjoyed a long relationship with David, one that precedes his tenure on our Board, and I know him to be a most capable and experienced healthcare executive. Considering his solid understanding of the Company’s fundamentals and team members, we are fortunate that he is willing and able to step into a full-time role with NSH. I am confident that our company is in good hands.”
