National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association Names Phoenix Suns’ Dr. Craig Phelps Team Physician of the Year

Craig Phelps, DO, an internal medicine physician and team physician for the Phoenix Suns, has been named the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association Physician of the Year for 2010-2011, according to a team news release.

Dr. Phelps has served on the Suns’ medical staff for 26 years arranging care for the athletes and treating non-orthopedic conditions. Dr. Phelps practices with Arrowhead Health Centers. He earned his DO at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition to his work with the Suns, Dr. Phelps is a team physician for the Phoenix Mercury WNBA team and the Phoenix Ballet.
