The survey respondents were the approximately 229 members of the healthsystemCIO.com CIO Advisory Panel.
Key findings of the survey are:
• Eighty-four percent of respondents reported that pushing back stage 2 and 3 is the right move for the healthcare industry.
• Sixty-eight percent of respondents reported that, in general, they believe the meaningful use program has been successful in moving the healthcare industry in the right direction, but is still flawed.
• Twenty-three percent of respondents reported that their biggest concern with the meaningful use program going forward is that stages and requirements are added without any evaluation of the first stage’s success.
