MRG’s US Markets for Arthroscopy Devices 2009 report predicts hip arthroscopy procedure volumes to grow to more than 70,000 annually, due to the increasing number of physicians being trained to perform hip arthroscopy. According to the release, this is due the establishment of more sports medicine fellowships.
The release also notes that performing hip arthroscopy can be profitable for surgeons as it has favorable reimbursement rates.
