Mesfin A. Lemma, MD (MedStar Orthopaedics, Baltimore). Dr. Lemma is Director of Spine Services at MedStar Good Samaritan, where he was the first spinal reconstructive surgeon in the group when he joined in 2003. He has a clinical interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal problems in the elderly, scoliosis and rheumatoid arthritis of the spine.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Lemma has published several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. He is active in resident and physician education.
Dr. Lemma earned his medical degree at Case Western School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. His additional training includes a spinal reconstructive fellowship at Johns Hopkins under John Kostuik, MD.
