MedStar Health opening sports medicine clinic at The St. James complex — 3 insights

Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health will provide sports medicine and physical therapy services at Springfield, Va.-based The St. James’ new 450,000-square-foot sports and wellness complex.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The St. James complex will open in September 2018, while the MedStar Health Center is slated to open in early 2019.

2. MedStar physicians will provide sports medicine care as well as physical therapy. The complex will also help athletes rehabilitate from injury, while working on injury prevention.

3. MedStar’s CMO Stephen R.T. Evans, MD, said, “We are pleased to bring our specialized expertise in caring for athletes of all ages and skill levels to this new venue. MedStar Health is a leader in making high-quality health and medical services available in communities where people live, work and play, and this is the latest expression of our commitment.”
