Here are five details:
1. AIMS was developed by Scottsdale-based Mayo Clinic Arizona’s sports neurology and concussion program co-director Jennifer Wethe, PhD.
2. Dr. Wethe said AIMS can test athletes for concussion in under three minutes.
3. U.S. Youth Soccer has also contributed to development of the program, which is being accessed by members and teams of the organization in 15 states.
4. Technology service company InjureFree partnered with the organizations to help power AIMS’ software.
5. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is also a collaborator on the project, providing abuse prevention education on sports topics, including young athletes who suffer emotional trauma and their greater risk of concussion.
