MAKO to Unveil Next-Generation Robotic Arm System

MAKO Surgical Corp. will unveil its next-generation robotic arm system and implants to be used in MAKOplasty partial knee resurfacing at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon’s annual meeting, according to a MAKO news release.

The RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System and the RESTORIS MCK MultiCompartmental Knee System will make partial knee resurfacing available to a larger number of patients as the procedure is less invasive than total knee replacement surgery, according to the news release. MAKO’s robotic arm is the first FDA-cleared robotic arm.
