Lawrence Tynes sues Tampa Bay Buccaneers over career-ending MRSA infection for $35M

NFL kicker Lawrence Tynes has filed a lawsuit against the Buccaneers after suffering an MRSA toe infection while he was playing for the team. Mr. Tynes is seeking $35 million in lost future earnings and damages, according to Deadspin.

After Mr. Tynes and Carl Nicks contracted MRSA, the team sanitized their training facility and reached a settlement with Mr. Nicks over his infection for $3 million. Another player, Jonthan Banks also contracted the infection but recovered.
