Kansas Blue Cross Adds Spine Hospital to Network

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas has added Kansas Spine Hospital in Wichita as an in-network provider, according to a release from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas.

“To put Blue Cross in the best position to grow, we knew we needed to move away from the days of having one exclusive hospital contract,” said Andrew Corbin, the Blue Cross president and CEO.

“Our focus on spine and orthopedic services allows for better patient outcomes, faster recovery time and decreased length of stay,” said Thomas Schmitt, CEO of 38-bed Kansas Spine Hospital.

In Dec. 2009, the insurer added 82-bed Galichia Heart Hospital, also in Wichita, to its network.
