Jens R. Chapman, MD (UW Medicine Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Seattle). Dr. Chapman is the Hansjoerg Wyss Endowed Chair in the department of orthopedics and adjunct professor in the department of neurological surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is also employed as a spine service faculty member at the Puget Sound Veterans Administration Medical Center in Seattle.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chapman wrote two books — The Spine Manual and Spinal Cord Injuries. He also focuses on research and served on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s advisory panel for spinal devices since 1997. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Chapman earned his medical degree from the Technische Universitaet Muenchen in Germany. His additional training includes a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas.
