The studies highlighted include:

•    A literature review on the role of vitamin D in bone and joint health, which concluded that adequate levels of vitamin D are associated with higher bone density, fewer osteoporosis-related fractures and improved neuromuscular function.
•    A study outlining treatments and complications for tibia, foot and ankle fractures, which concluded that factors such as a person’s general health, blood supply, training regimen and foot anatomy contributed to the overall outcome of treatment for these injuries.
•    An overview of the Spine Patient Outcomes Research Trial to provide guidance in care for patients with lower back and leg pain.
