IRS Has Received More Than 330k PPACA Tax Credit Calculation Requests

The Internal Revenue Service has received more than 330,000 requests from consumers looking for premium tax credit calculations, with an average response time of 0.21 seconds, through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act data hub, according to a blog post by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

The tax credits will help people pay for health insurance coverage purchased through the exchanges. Additionally, the IRS has received and responded to more than 1.3 million requests for historical household income and family size tax data from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act data hub, although that number doesn’t reflect the number of people requests were made about, according to Secretary Sebelius.
