The Consumer Reports survey reviewed over 1 million patient surveys from hospitals across the country and evaluated hospitals on five areas: overall patient rating, doctor communication, nurse communication, room cleanliness and discharge instructions.
“Patient care is our first priority at the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital,” Jane Keller, RN, MBA, CEO of IOH, said in the release. “We are pleased that a respected, independent organization like Consumer Reports confirms through its study of patient surveys both our commitment to patients and patient satisfaction with IOH . . . The results from Consumer Reports join other public and private studies that refute the baseless attacks against physician owners.”
IOH was also ranked by HealthGrades and received the 2009 Joint Surgery Excellence Award. Additionally, IOH was recognized among the top 5 percent in the nation for joint replacement surgery and among the Top 5 in Indiana for joint replacement surgery. IOH was also five-star rated by HealthGrades for joint replacement surgery, total knee replacement, total hip replacement, spine surgery and back and neck (spinal fusion), according to the release.
