The ON-Q Take ACTION (Avoiding Complications Through Initiatives to reduce Overutilized Narcotics) program is an integrated, step-wise approach to help hospitals implement alternatives to opioids for post-surgical pain management.

The technology combines financial assessments, best practice recommendations and innovative technology and outcomes measurement to reduce or eliminate unnecessary exposure to narcotics. A key component of the program is the use of the ON-Q Pain Relief System which is a single-use, portable pump that delivers an automatic and regulated flow of logical anesthetic through a specially designed catheter inserted near the patient’s surgical site or close to a peripheral nerve.
