Dr. Pierre Rouzier embarks on 4k-mile bicycle trip — 4 observations

Pierre A. Rouzier, MD, of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, is currently cycling 4,128 miles across the country as part of “Keep Moving! Eat Healthy! Get Riding!”, according to UMass Amherst News.

“Keep Moving! Eat Healthy! Get Riding!” is a childhood health initiative.

 

Here are four observations:

 

1. Dr. Rouzier departed Newport, Ore., on June 15, and will complete his trip in Boston on Aug. 21.

 

2. Dr. Rouzier will make stops at libraries along the route in support of his book, “Henry Gets Moving,” a bilingual children’s book promoting healthy lifestyle habits for children through the book’s titular character Henry the Hamster.

 

3. Dr. Rouzier currently serves as team physician and athletic medicine director at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

 

4. Dr. Rouzier earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
