4 things to know about Mercy Hospital training athletic trainers

Mercy Hospital will host a training session for athletic trainers to learn how to best treat sport-related injuries for high school football players in St. Louis, according to KSPR.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Trainers will learn ways to deal with helmet and spinal cord injuries.

 

2. Additionally, trainers will learn how to treat heat-related illnesses.

 

3. Trainers will meet to review and discuss changes in protocol.  

 

4. Mercy employees will role play the student athletes to prepare the trainers for sports-related injuries.
