Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was the chief of spinal surgery for the El Paso Orthopedic Surgery Group from June 1993 to January 2006.
Dr. Smith attended medical school at the Louisiana State University in Shreveport. After completing his residency at Louisiana State University, Dr. Smith went on to complete his spine fellowship at the County of Los Angeles, CA, Rancho Los Amigo Medical Center in Downey, Calif., and the Southwestern Orthopedic Medical Center in Ventura, Calif.
