International Extreme Sports Medicine Congress to hold 2nd meeting in June — 3 things to know

The Second International Extreme Sports Medicine Congress will take place on June 10 and 11 in Boulder, Colo., according to CU News Center.

Here are three things to know:

 

1. The two-day event will feature speakers from 10 countries covering a wide range of extreme sports and performance-related topics, including injury prevention, injury treatment, nutrition and rehabilitation.

 

2. Professional adventurer Will Gadd will deliver a keynote address. Mr. Gadd recently became the first and only person to ice climb Niagara Falls and twice set the world record for paragliding distance, in addition to numerous other extreme feats.

 

3. The event is presented by the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Boulder, the CU department of orthopedics, the CU division of sports medicine and the CU Office of Continuing Medical Education in collaboration with the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center.
