Here are five highlights:
1. The pediatric sports medicine program will operate across all of Atlantic Health System’s facilities and oversee sports rehabilitation and physical therapy in collaboration with non-Atlantic Health System Centers.
2. Tim Leier, MD, is the medical director of the pediatric sports medicine program and board-certified in pediatrics, pain medicine and sports medicine.
3. The pediatric sports medicine program offers specialists training in the young athlete’s unique needs and equipment customizable for young patients, such as lower-dose radiation or diagnostic technology, smaller braces or nonoperative techniques appropriate for the maturing body.
4. The pediatric sports medicine program will work collaboratively with the subspecialists Goryeb Children’s Hospital.
