HEC Subcommittee passes Congressman Brett Guthrie’s sports medicine bill — 3 quick notes

On Wednesday, The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health passed Rep. Brett Guthrie’s (R-Ky) Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act, according to The Grayson County News-Gazette.

1. The Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act provides legal protection for sports medicine professionals who support high school, college and professional teams by ensuring they are covered by medical liability insurance when providing care in another state.

 

2. Mr. Guthrie plans to move this bill through full committee and to the House floor in the near future.

 

3. Mr. Guthrie has served as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 2nd congressional district since 2009.
