1. Dr. Lawson found that Mr. Maitland sustained some damage to the structures of his knee and ankle, but the injuries do not require surgery.

 

2. According to Scotland Rugby team physician James Robson, MD, the expected recovery time for soft tissue damage of Mr. Maitland’s type of injury is up to eight weeks.

 

3. Mr. Maitland is beginning work on his rehabilitation in the care of the Glasgow Warriors medical team.

 

4. Dr. Lawson earned his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in Scotland. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, Royal College of Surgeons, British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine and British Association for Surgery of the Knee.
