An HowardHoward An, MD (Rush University Medical Center, Chicago). Dr. An is the director of the division of spine surgery and spine fellowship program at Rush University Medical Center. He also serves as the Morton International Endowed Chair Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. An previously served as director of spine surgery for eight years at Medical College of Wisconsin.

 

Throughout his career, Dr. An has several accomplishments including serving as a board member for the North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society, Orthopaedic Research Society and American Orthopaedic Association. He was also president of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. He is currently involved in spinal biomechanics and tissue engineering research. 

 

Dr. An earned his medical degree at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, where he also completed his residency. He finished a spine surgery fellowship at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and underwent the North American Traveling Fellowship and Scoliosis Research Society Traveling Fellowship.
