The researchers examined 37,381 total knee arthroplasties, reported through the Norwegian Arthroplasty Register.

Hospitals with an annual volume of one to 24 procedures:
•    92.5 percent prosthetic survival at 10 years

Hospitals with an annual volume of 150 or more procedures:
•    95.5 percent prosthetic survival at 10 years

The researchers found that the risk of revision surgery was significantly higher at low- volume hospitals in comparison to high-volume hospitals.
