Here’s what you need to know:

1. Saint Joseph Hospital is the only facility in the area to have two da Vinci Xi robots. When surgeons use the tech in procedures, patients have faster recovery times, shorter hospital stays and minimal scarring.

2. Surgeons can use the da Vinci’s Xi’s console to control the robot’s equipment in real time, which offers improved precision and vision over the surgeon’s own eyes and hands.

3. “Our robotic surgery program helps patients return to their lives more quickly, so the demand for these minimally invasive procedures has been strong,” said Bruce Tassin, KentuckyOne Health market CEO.
