Hospital for Special Surgery to Host Soccer Industry Medical Symposium

The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City will host a symposium for sports medicine professionals, athletic trainers and physical therapists to learn about the latest research, treatment and prevention methods of soccer-related injuries, according to a hospital news release.

The Hospital for Special Surgery will present the Soccer Industry Medical Symposium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Jan. 8. The attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss foot and ankle injuries in soccer athletes, hip rehabilitation, platelet-rich plasma, hip disorders and returning to play criteria.

Speakers from the Hospital for Special Surgery will include David S. Levine, MD, Peter Draovitch, PT, Brian C. Halpern, MD, Bryan T. Kelly, MD, Robert Brophy, MD and Rily J. Williams, III, MD. Additional speakers include the head team physician for the New York Red Bulls soccer club and the head team physician for the New Jersey Nets.
