Hospital for Special Surgery’s Dr. Michelle Carlson performs surgery on Brooklyn Nets guard

Michelle Carlson, MD, performed ligament repair surgery on Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie’s right thumb, the NBA reports.

Dr. Carlson performed the procedure at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery. She is an associate attending orthopedic surgeon at HSS and an associate clinical orthopedic surgery professor at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College.

Mr. Dinwiddie is third among all players in points scored off the bench this season. He has recorded the second-most points off the bench in a season in Nets history.
