The other four appointees includes Daniel C. Benton, CEO of Andor Capital Management, Kathryn C. Chenault, a civic leader in New York, Craig S. Ivey, president of Consolidated Edison Company of New York and Deirdre Stanley, executive vice president and general counsel at Thomson Reuters.
Dr. Deland initiated the creation of the Foot and Ankle Center at HSS and serves as an associate professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. His research has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Health, and he previously served at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Deland earned his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, where he also completed a sports medicine fellowship. His additional training includes an A-O trauma fellowship and foot and ankle fellowship at St. Luke’s—Roosevelt Hospital Center.
