Hoag Hospital completed 10k robotic surgeries: 3 takeaways

Here are three takeaways.

1. Hoag Hospital Newport Beach utilizes five robotic systems, including four da Vinci Xi robots and one da Vinci Si robot. At Hoag Hospital Irvine (Calif.), surgeons utilize one da Vinci Xi robot.

2. When combining totals from both campus, surgeons have performed 11,211 robotic surgeries. This makes Hoag the fourth highest volume provider of both robotic-assisted surgeries and gynecologic robotic-assisted surgeries in the nation.

3. There are 42 surgeons who contributed to reaching this milestone. Hoag is now one of two hospitals in the U.S. to earned Intuitive Surgical’s Executive Enrichment Program for Robots designation.
